Nuckols Farm is steeped in tradition and history. With land, most of which has been in our family for three generations, the Nuckols family has been helping our clients succeed in the Thoroughbred business for over 100 years. In concert with family and clients, we have bred and raised over 300 stakes winners and 13 champions on this land.
In 2002 Charles Nuckols, Jr. realized a great dream at 80 years of age when War Emblem, whom was bred for longtime client Russell Reineman, won the Kentucky Derby, followed by a victories in the Preakness S. and Haskell Invitational. The following year Funny Cide won the Kentucky Derby. He was sired by Distorted Humor, another horse bred by Nuckols for Reineman.
Under the watchful eye of Charles "Nucks" Nuckols III Monarchos thrived in the breeding shed and our success rate of getting mares in foal continued to be over 90%. We are equally as proud of how our horses present themselves at the sales and on the racetrack. In 2012 the conception rate at Nuckols Farm was 100% among our 75 broodmares on the farm, including ship-ins. With additional acreage recently purchased, Nuckols Farm for the first time in many years is able to offer our services to new clients.
